Hammock Community Conservation
Corporation Minutes of the November 11, 2008 Meeting The meeting was called to
order at 7:30 p.m. by Vice President, John Byrd. The pledge of allegiance was given and a
moment of silence was observed for those serving to protect our country. Announcemnets: John Byrd announced the
following: the HCCC will send
flowers to Alma Nemrava who has just had surgery there will be an
increase in dues from $5.00 to $10.00 per family it is time to elect
new officers if anyone is interested or knows someone that may be interested
please let John know if anyone has
suggestions for the programs for the year 2009 please let John know. Carole McCleery
gave the Treasurer’s report. Our total
funds are $2096.85. Minutes were approved and
Treasure’s Report accepted. Program: The
History of the Hammock By:
Sisco Dean Sisco Dean is a member of the Flagler County Historical
Society, which is located at 204 & As a genealogist he shared
his research on the History of the Hammock.
His talk was both informative and interesting. Mr. Dean shared that our
present day barrier island came into existence on Monday, May 13, 1907, when
the waters of the We heard about our early

Marion Hernandez. From this point Sisco carried us forward through the Transportation
